Make your stay at Spier all about quality family time. We have plenty on offer for everyone in the family to enjoy:

  • The Elemental Play Garden – Explore the four elements of water, air, fire and earth in the garden’s distinct quadrants, while playing on a slide landscaped from earth mounds, crawling through a tunnel to crawl, swinging on a bridge, or splashing in the water. (15-60min / Free)

  • Grape juice tasting – Ensure the kids don’t feel left out when you’re off tasting wine. Let them enjoy a grape juice tasting experience where they can sample two different types of juice and learn about the role insects play in our vineyards. (30-60min / From R40pp)

  • Family Picnic – Lay down a blanket on a soft patch of grass under a shady oak tree and open up a bountiful picnic basket, full of fresh produce from our farm and trusted local producers.   • Tamlin Blake Tapestries – Vadas Smokehouse & Bakery serves up more than delicious food and drinks. Grab a coffee and one (or more, no judgement here) of their famous pasteis de nata and head to the lounge to browse tapestries from renowned mix-media artist, Tamlin Blake. (10-20min / Free)

THE FOODIE GUIDE

  • Self-harvest at Spier Food Garden Explore the garden – it used to be an old horse paddock – and learn about how we grow farm-fresh and nutrient-rich produce through eco-friendly and regenerative techniques. Then harvest your own fruits, herbs, salad greens and vegetables. Self-harvesting is available Monday - Saturday from 09.00 to 11.00 at (30-60min / R150 per basket). BOOK HERE

  • Vadas Smokehouse & Bakery – Vadas serves freshly made breads and pastries that are all worth a nibble, but it’s their Pasteis de Nata that they’re most famous for, so be sure to take a few home with you.

  • Spier Farm Café – While our seasonal pre-booked picnics are closed for winter, browse through our Farm Café for deliciously farm-fresh treats and build your own picnic or stock up your pantry with the taste of Spier.

  • Seaward Sip & Soup Tasting – This winter, savour four deliciously comforting soups homemade and expertly paired with our best-selling, coastal grown Seaward wines. Available until end August. (60min / R150 pp) BOOK HERE.
