TEAM OPENING: WERF COMMIS CHEF (Fixed Term Contract)
Prepare all mise-en-place needed for menus. Support chefs in the areas that you have been assigned to, i.e. other kitchen team members in food production while ensuring all personal hygiene rules are met and food is stored and prepared under the correct hygiene standards. Assist with cleaning of fridges, scullery and general kitchen areas.
Key responsibilities
• Prepare all mise-en-place needed for the section that you have been allocated to.
• Support the Chefs and other kitchen team members in food production
• Follow all personal hygiene rules and quality standards
• Ensure all food is stored and prepared under the correct hygiene standards
• Help with cleaning of fridges, keep scullery areas tidy at all times
• Fill in necessary checklists and follow SOPs as required
• Ensure wet and dry waste is put into the correct bins
• Handle all equipment with care and report any maintenance issues to Executive Chef immediately.
• Measuring dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately
• Assist with preparations for closing the kitchen
• Work cooperatively with colleagues to complete assigned duties
• Report complaints and/ or any incidents to management/ supervisors promptly, helping to find solutions where possible
• Be familiar with and adhere to company policies and procedures.

Knowledge, skills and qualities
• At least one year’s exposure in a kitchen environment.
• Certificate/Diploma in Culinary Arts/ Professional cookery/ Hospitality Management.
• Literacy and Numeracy essential.
• Good communication skills – fluency in English necessary.
• Environmentally responsible and willing to learn more.
• Basic knowledge of Health & Safety and Hygiene Standards.
• Able to function under pressure and keep calm.
• Must love working with food.
• A committed team member, willing to cooperate with others.
• A vibrant and responsible approach with a cheerful and service-oriented outlook.

TEAM OPENING: WERF CLEANER (Fixed Term Contract)
Clean, sweep and mop floors, empty and replace bins, clean cutlery and crockery, glassware and general operating equipment, including but not limited to ovens, extractor fans and general kitchen areas.
Key responsibilities
• Carry out general cleaning of kitchens.
• Ensure appropriate cleaning supplies are kept stocked and notify management of items not working/ missing.
• Demonstrate service excellence and a positive team experience, safeguarding OE and property at all times.
• Sweep and mop floors in-between service or as needed.
• Empty bins and replace in correct areas of kitchen (especially recyclable waste).
• Clean dishwashing and scullery areas, ovens, extractor fans and general restaurant areas.
• Process daily tasks as necessary as per Standard operating procedures.
• Maintain the highest standards of personal and area hygiene.
• Follow all health & safety and security protocols at all times.
• Be supportive to team and assist other departments as and when required.
• Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues in own and other departments

This position will assist with the preparation of all ingredients for sections within the kitchen ensuring all mise-en-place is fresh and on time for service. Work cooperatively with colleagues to complete assigned duties and ensure daily/weekly/monthly stock control procedures are adhered to.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise assigned section in the kitchen, as well as junior brigade within the kitchen section.
- Stay up to date with what is current and ensure only local and seasonal produce is used that speaks to the food philosophy and local/traditional flavours.
- Maintain high quality of all foods prepared and in the correct quantities.
- Follow all personal hygiene rules and ensure all food is sorted and prepared under the correct hygiene standards.
- Ensure daily/weekly/monthly stock control procedures are adhered to.
- Work cooperatively with colleagues to complete assigned duties.
Knowledge, skills and qualities
- At least two to three years’ experience in a kitchen environment.
- Certificate/Diploma in Culinary Arts/Professional cookery/Hospitality Management.
- Literacy and numeracy essential.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to function under pressure and keep calm.
- Well organised and able to meet deadlines.
